Real-time map shows confirmed coronavirus cases, deaths statewide by county

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s real-time COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard lists total coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, deaths, total number of tests by county, test sites, and hospitalizations statewide.

ADPH says the dashboard’s “Total Tested” category primarily represents coronavirus tests that were completed by the Department’s Bureau of Clinical Laboratories, along with some testing data from commercial labs.

Commercial labs are required by law to report positive tests to ADPH. Some commercial labs do not report negative tests.

“Reported Deaths” represent the number of individuals who had a positive lab result and are now deceased.

To count a person who died from COVID-19 disease, the medical record of the deceased person is reviewed by a physician and Infectious Disease and Outbreak staff. Once the review is complete, if the death is attributed to COVID-19, the individual will also be counted in the “Died From Illness” category.

The listed test sites are facilities that have reported to ADPH that they are collecting specimens for COVID-19 testing.

ADPH says the list may not reflect all current collection sites in Alabama.

The COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard is designed for viewing on desktops/laptops and mobile devices.
