‘Dukes of Hazzard’ cast members, ‘Turtleman,’ Whey Jennings concert and more set for this weekend in Rogersville

The North Alabama Market, which brought cast members of “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons” to the Cotton Gin event center Rogersville in December, is bringing the Just a Good Ol’ Boys Pickers Market to the same venue this Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11.

Tom Wopat, the actor-singer who portrayed Luke Duke on the hit CBS television series “The Dukes of Hazzard,” will be among the featured guests at this two-day event.

“The Dukes of Hazzard” ran for seven seasons on CBS, 1979 to 1985. The show subsequently aired in syndication and was spun off into a separate show (“Enos”), cartoon and video games, along with two made-for-TV movies. A ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ feature film was followed by a direct-to-video prequel movie.

The Just a Good Ol’ Boys Pickers Market was originally scheduled for April 15-16 but was postponed after heavy rains caused unusually soggy conditions on the grounds of the event center.

In addition to Wopat, fans will have opportunities to meet ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ cast members Rick Hurst (Deputy Cletus Hogg), Byron Cherry (Coy Duke) and Christopher Hensel (Jeb Stuart Duke), along with tribute artist Mark Puette as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane.

There will also be a concert by Whey Jennings, who is Waylon Jennings’ grandson, on Saturday (June 10), 1 p.m., with special guest Sam Lowe. Waylon Jennings wrote and recorded the show’s memorable theme song

The concert is included with Saturday’s (June 10) admission to the pickers market.

There will also be special appearances from Ernie ‘Turtleman’ Brown Jr. and Suzanne Brown from Animal Planet’s “Call of the Wildman.”

The market will feature meet-and-greets with the cast members, vendors (with antiques, archaeological salvage items, original art, repurposed finds, jewelry, clothing and more), a General Lee car show, food trucks, and opportunities to dine with the cast members, including a ‘Dinner with the Dukes’ murder mystery dinner theatre (June 10) and Boss Hogg’s Breakfast (June 11).

Admission to the pickers market is $10 in advance or $15 at the door; $5 for children 3-12; and free for children 2 and younger. ‘Early bird’ and VIP tickets are available.

Separate tickets are required for the ‘dining with cast members’ events, which will take place at Fuqua’s Soul Food in the Rogersville Shopping Center.

The Cotton Gin at Roberson Farms is located at 6810 County Road 91 (Lamb’s Ferry Road), Rogersville.
