Stroll the Rogersville Tinsel Trail

The inaugural Rogersville Tinsel Trail, located in Heritage Park downtown, was illuminated on Friday, December 4.

Mayor Richard Herston encourages everyone to come out to the park anytime, particularly before or after the downtown Rogersville Christmas parade tonight (7 p.m. Thursday, December 10), to view the Tinsel Trail’s beautifully-lit live trees and other decorations.

Due to COVID-19 safety concerns, plans to offer refreshments at the park prior to the parade have been canceled. Mayor Herston instead encourages everyone to stroll the park at your leisure before the parade, after the parade and anytime.

The 30 live trees in the Tinsel Trail were reserved and decorated by various groups, civic organizations, businesses, churches and families/individuals.

Each group decorated their own tree, while the Town of Rogersville provided custom signs to identify each tree sponsor. Town employees set up additional decorations in the park.

A portion of the Rogersville Tinsel Trail tree sponsorship fees will be donated to the Shoals chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit organization that provides high-quality beds to local children and families in need.

Heritage Park is located at the corner of Wheeler Street (Highway 207 ) and Less Street, immediately southwest of the 4-way stop.

The Rogersville Tinsel Trail will be set up in the park through the holiday season.
