Lauderdale County Schools’ study-at-home packets will be available for pickup Friday

Study-at-home instructional packets for students in the Lauderdale County School System will be available for pickup at individual schools on Friday, April 17.

According to the system’s School-from-Home Plan FAQ:

Elementary teachers will prepare paper/pencil instructional packets, and technological resources can be used by the classroom teachers to supplement instruction for those who have Internet access.

Teachers in Grades 7-12 may use an online format via student Chromebooks to deliver instruction/content, but if teachers in Grades 7-12 decide to use Chromebooks, they will also provide pencil/paper instructional packets with the same content and equitable instructional support for those students without Internet service.

Lauderdale County School System School-from-Home Plan FAQ

The school system said the packets “are designed to advance student knowledge of course critical standards that teachers had not taught and/or students had not mastered before the official closing of schools.”

Pre-K through 6th grade packets will also be available as PDF files through the system’s website. The link to each grade level’s packet will be shared on Friday.

Instructional materials will only be graded if the work will make a difference between a student passing or failing a course or grade level. Return of work will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Any work to be graded will be due by noon on Friday, May 8.

Check your school’s official social media pages for updates, including instructions regarding pick-up times and drive-up instructions, or contact your student’s teacher, counselor or administrator via email.
