Lauderdale County School System seeking parental input through ‘Return to School’ survey

The Lauderdale County School System is seeking input from parents/families regarding the district’s Return to School Plan for Fall 2020.

According to a school district statement, “In making the best plan for returning to school safely in the fall of 2020, we want your input. Alabama schools are planning to open with a variety of learning opportunities, including in-person and/or online instruction. Learning is important for every child and Lauderdale County School System is moving forward with opening all schools on August 7, 2020.”

The statement noted that a virtual option is part of the plan for the fall.

The learning plan includes three scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year:

  • Traditional school
  • Virtual online learning
  • Blended learning–may be an option in certain circumstances

The school system’s statement continued, “Under this plan, you have input as to what you hope school will be for your children when we return in the fall.

“More information will be provided in the coming weeks. This survey is one way of hearing from you as to what you would like for your child/children’s education.”

The deadline to complete the survey is midnight tonight (Monday, June 22).
